The official groundbreaking was on October 30, 2001 with the Mayor, other City officials, the architects, construction manager, and Dr. Good wielding Dearborn Family Pet Care shovels and wearing Dearborn Family Pet Care hard hats. Site Preparation - October 2001 - April 2002

Construction began with excavation of the site. Giant 10' - 15' slabs of concrete, bridge abutments, were discovered and had to be removed. Once all the debris was removed, fill dirt had to be brought in. Wood pilings then had to be installed and capped to support the new building. This was followed by installation of the sewer system and pouring the cement retaining walls.
The next step is to put walls up.
