We offer the latest dental care products and advice to help you care for your pet's dental hygiene. We will perform routine oral exams during your pet's annual physical check-up can can perform thorough dental cleanings as needed. Good dental care can help your pet avoid periodontal disease and the possibility of more serious conditions of the liver, kidneys, and heart.
Complete Laboratory Diagnostics
We have equipment in our hospital to perform most routine laboratory tests needed for the timely diagnosis of many conditions. When specialized testing is required, we work with expert veterinary labs outside our office to obtain speedy results.
From routine spaying and neutering, to orthopedics and emergency procedures, the doctors at Dearborn Family Pet Care are well versed in surgical technique and are ready to handle your pet's needs. We use the safest and most up to date anesthesia and monitoring equipment and routinely prescribe the most effective forms of pain relief medications. When a pet's condition requires a highly specialized surgery, our doctors can make an appropriate referral so that your pet receives the best care available.
We feature a new cutting-edge CO2 30 watt surgical laser. There are 5 major benefits to using the laser:
Reduced pain - the laser seals nerve endings as it cuts through tissue.
Reduced bleeding - the laser cauterizes and seals small blood vessels as it cuts.
Reduced swelling - there is no physical contact between the laser and the surgical region, eliminating the tearing and bruising of tissue associated with traditional surgical methods. Lymphatic vessels also are sealed.
Reduced infection - the laser acts as an antibacterial agent by producing high temperatures, effectively eliminating microorganisms.
Fast recovery as a result of all of the above.
Dearborn Family Pet Care strongly believes in providing effective pain management to all of our patients. We are committed to working with you to maximize your pet's comfort based on your pet's specific needs. Dr. Good has a Certificate of Achievement from the Fort Dodge Animal Health Pain Management Seminar. Veterinarians participating in this seminar have renewed their commitment to use their knowledge and skills for the relief of animal pain and suffering.
Radiological Diagnostic Services
When pets are injured or require x-rays to help diagnose internal conditions, we can perform these radiological services with our own equipment, here in our hospital, so that diagnosis and treatment can begin as quickly as possible.
During our regular office hours, we will expedite treatment of critically ill or injured pets. After hours and on holidays, please contact Affiliated Veterinary Emergency at 734-284-1700, or Veterinary Emergency Service West at 734-207-8500.
Dogs and cats are not the only patients at Dearborn Family Pet Care. We provide care for ferrets, rabbits, birds, and "pocket pets" like hamsters, guinea pigs, and more.
Whether you are starting out with a new puppy or kitten, or working to maintain the health of an older pet, we will design a vaccine schedule and formulate a Wellness Program to meet your pet's individual needs. We will also be sure that you are aware of all the choices now available for the detection, treatment, and prevention of parasites, including the many options now offered for heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
Nutritional and Behavioral Counselling
We are always happy to make recommendations for maintaining your pet's health and fitness with the foods and supplements best suited to their breed and lifestyle. We will prescribe appropriate diets for the management of special medical conditions. Our doctors and technicians are available to consult with our clients about behavioral concerns and obedience issues.
We offer boarding services to our clients with excellent accommodations for dogs and cats. Reservations are required.

For our clients' convenience, we carry a full line of dental cre items, shampoos and conditioners, flea and tick control, and effective stain and odor removal products.
We extend discounts on veterinary services to senior citizens and multiple pet households, Discounts also are available for service animals and to members of the Dearborn police and fire departments.
